ShiveWorks Segments
Why segments?
Welcome to my contribution to the dynamic material research project at WPI. It is build around individually actuated segments controlled by a central script. The demonstrational device consists of up to 100 segments that can be individually or collectively actuated to create a range of static or dynamic shapes. The data is generated using a complex MATLAB simulation, that is then pre-loaded to the ESP32s. This macro experimental verification of the simulation results is a crucial step in advancing our understanding of wave propagation.

Prototyping the first segment
Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures or a video of the fully wired segments running. Fortunately, professor William C. Sanguinet did take a lower-resolution vertical video from which the following picture is extracted.
